Prof. Dr. Friedrich Götz
Head of the Department of Microbial Genetics at Universität
Tübingen since 1987 is an internationally highly recognised
expert in molecular biology of the bacterial genus Staphylococcus.
Prof. Dr. Günther Jung
is one of the most distinguished peptide and analytical chemists
world-wide. Since 1978 he is Professor of Organic Chemistry at
Universität Tübingen.
Prof. Dr. Joachim-Volker
Höltje
was Professor at the Max-Planck-Institut für Entwicklungsbiologie
in Tübingen. He is an expert in the biosynthesis of murein
of the model bacterium Escherichia coli. His research topic was
the bacterial morphogenesis in Escherichia coli – a molecular
basis for novel antibiotic design.
Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Rolf G. Werner
is Corporate Director at Boehringer Ingelheim GmbH. After studying
in Tübingen, Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics
in Berlin and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge,
USA, he was appointed Professor of the Faculty of Biology at the
University of Tübingen. Since 1998 he is Head of the Corporate
Division Biopharmaceuticals of Boehringer Ingelheim with world
wide responsibility for the biopharmaceutical operations. Prof.
Werner is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the University
of Stuttgart and Fraunhofer Gesellschaft
